The solution to this countries Illegal Immigration is quite Simple!

You may find this to be Crude or Brash but I find its possible outcome to be rather Affective!

With an estimated 12 million Illegal Immigrates living in the US, the idea of deporting seems absurd and demanding.  We have neither the time, money or 'political right' to administer a door to door search to verify citizenship.  Amnesty does not seem reasonable because I find being a citizen of the US a privilege.  With open borders, deadlines missed, and a increasing amount of 'illegal crossing' something must be done.

Lets try a 'Watered-Down' approach:

For all Illegals here currently, a provisional citizenship will be granted upon the completion in Building One Mile of Border Fence.
Thats Right!!!
If you anonymously volunteer to grab a shovel, hammer and materials provided by the government, and proceed to help build One Mile of Border Fence a provisional citizenship with be granted.
Under a probationary term of 5 years, without accumulating any criminal record, the current illegal with be welcomed into American Society.

Not only will the Border Fence be established in a short period of time, the requirement will be reduced to Manual Labor.  Education and speaking the native English Language will not be necessary.
Steps:
Dig hole, insert pole, fill with cement, attach chain link fence. 

5280 feet to Freedom

Not a bad price in exchange for American Citizenship.
